IsCream ( a nickname he will acquire in his boarding school days at Winneba Secondary School), always had the edge to perform on stage to entertain people. As a kid IsCream will enter and win mostly all the dance competition at friends parties.
Throughout his academic studies, IsCream would always get involve in organising talent shows for his fellow school mates and friends. This led to him being elected to act as Entertainment Prefect for his school, Winneba Secondary School in 1998
Prior to that , in 1997, IsCream teamed up with Natty Borax (a.k.a Mr Borax of ‘Asee Ho’ fame) and Mosquito to form the clique ‘Native Lords’. In that same year, ‘Native Lords’ entered into a rap competition at the National Theatre in Accra, which they won. From then on the group will have several appearances on shows like FunWorld and Kiddafest alongside now big stars such as Mensa, Buk Bak, VIP, The Late Terry Bon Chaka (RIP), Samini, etc.
Due to artistic differences, and different agendas, with regards to completing high school and university, the group had to split up with the imminent release of Mr. Borax’s debut album ‘Asee Ho’, on which IsCream wrote 2 songs, ‘Mama Pa’ and ‘I believe I can fly’, both songs will later become a cult hit after the 2001 release.
Even though it is evident that IsCream always had the talent to have released an album a few years back, It was always his plan to obtain academic qualifications first and foremost. Now with a Bachelors degree in Information Studies and Sociology, from the University of Ghana and after studying how the music industry operates in Ghana , IsCream currently works as Events Executive at Ghana’s foremost media company, Charter House.
